Public Relations for Divorce Lawyers

Most people hate lawyers and that is truly unfortunate for the legal profession, although many people say it is their own fault. One type of area of law, which is practiced that often gets people to hate lawyers are those that practiced divorce law.

Since 65% of those who have been married have had at least one divorce, most of them had used a lawyer to get the divorce, so you can understand that half or more of them will be very upset with the deal they got and all will be upset at the amount of money they had to pay the divorce lawyer to represent them.

So what can divorce lawyers do to promote them selves and maintain good public relations? It might be wise for divorce lawyers to get with marriage counselors and put on seminars and try to get people to stay together and work on things amicably.

If the marriage does not work out the divorce lawyers might get some extra business, but perhaps they might also have checklists and meet with both parties together and help them separate without wasting all their money on divorce lawyers.

Why would a divorce lawyer want to do that, because they can make money without destroying people's lives and making people hate lawyers? Perhaps if you are a divorce lawyer you might consider all this in 2006.

Promoting yourself as a Content Writer

Content writing is the one job which can even be done while sitting at your home. But that is only possible if you have ample of quality work and healthy list of clients. It's easy to become a content writer but tough to build and maintain that image. Nowadays content writers or even copywriters are proud to tag themselves as writers. But reality has some other face. Not anyone can qualify to become a content writer as you have to prove your mettle and also showcase that you are capable. Ironically content writing job isn't that lucrative as content writers are hardly paid $5 to $10 per article and moreover they also don't own a right over them. Thus, it is wise to have your own market so that you not only earn more but also help others in their earnings.

But you'll be amazed to know that majority of the content writing work is outsourced to India. The only reason is that command over language and the way they play with the words. That's why content writing India is the highly searched keyword in various search engines whether it is Yahoo, Google, MSN, AltaVista, HotBot and many more. But before getting into the market there are few check points required to promote yourself as a content writer. So, those prime check points are as follows:

• Design your own website: If you are into content writing then having a website gives you a cutting edge over your rivals. Your website is your presence over the internet and it also marks your authentication. Your designed website should carry your rates, sample articles, and, if possible, references from clients whom you have done content writing for. And if possible those presented articles should be from diverse topics as this shows you are not only flexible but you can also cover a wide variety of assignments.

• Webmaster Forums: After designing your website, the next task is that start advertising your services in various webmaster forums. It won't be wrong to say that; the world is full of content-hungry webmasters who will hire you to write content for them. And mind you they'll pay you more in comparison to various bidding websites. Also this helps you in building a reputation and having a good forum reputation will cause webmasters to chase you for your services and also, allowing you to charge higher prices than otherwise possible.

• Promoting Articles: Many times it has been seen that content writers write articles but don't know what to do with that. So they either save it in their computer or in a disc. But there's another way too. That is promoting your articles. Now you can easily promote and market your articles by submitting them to various article submission websites. They offer you free submission along with mentioning of your business site in the Author Bio box. By this way you can capture and promote your articles worldwide.

• Target the massive websites: After doing years of content writing, you can present and submit your work to various big websites such as about.com, wikipedia.com, ask.com and many more. This makes you get the maximum exposure and simultaneously you are paid for quality articles. But mind you they only hire the best talent.

Thus, if you follow these steps, you not only get the required recognition of your work but also you are making content writing work more lucrative.

How to Promote Your Book Even in Your Underwear

You've worked hard to write a book. You're ready to sell your book in bookstores, on the web, and wherever else folks will buy your book. But you've got to promote your book yourself. It doesn't matter whether you have a traditionally published book, a self-published book, or an ebook, you're the one responsible for promoting it. The book publisher will put resources into your book if it takes off, but not until. So this is your job regardless of the efforts of anyone else.

The strategy? Use your time as effectively as possible. Work on the techniques that have proven effective time and time again for book promotion.

The biggest one? Radio talk shows. They're simple, they're straightforward, they're not difficult and, because of the logistics of the medium, you can literally be on radio, promoting your book, from the comfort of your own home, dressed in your underwear if that's what you want.

Countless numbers of successful book authors have made their success, from a standing start, by using the radio waves of the world relentlessly.

So here's a quick tip sheet on how you can do the same and start creating big sales for your book, almost instantly! Create a time budget. You can easily promote your book without money, but not without time. Think about one hour or so each day and then increase that as success accumulates.

Write a press release (a sales letter, really) selling your value as a talk-show guest. After you've finished, read it and ask yourself if this release would compel you, really compel you (if you were a radio producer) to have you on the show as a guest.

Send your press release to radio talk show producers in your area and right around the country. Remember, promoting your book on radio doesn't require you to be in the studio of the radio station. Interviews can be done from your living room, or your office. They can be done while sitting in your underwear at the kitchen table. Just as long as you've got a telephone, you're in business.

When the producer calls, (and she will if your press release is powerful enough) your audition begins immediately. So turn on your enthusiasm, your charm and your suitability as a talk-show guest. The decision is being made on the telephone even as you speak.

Make sure your press release has several outstanding questions the radio host could ask you and that you could answer profoundly.

By the way, the producer will be asking you for a couple of these answers while she has you on the telephone. So don't hold back when you talk to that radio producer.

Prepare for that radio talk show. Know the name and proper pronunciation for the host. Also, know some of the surrounding geography, so you can say something like, "hey, we haven't heard from anyone in the Braewood area" if it's a phone-in show.

Try to get on phone-in shows if possible. They're a lot easier because the people who call in will have basic questions you can knock out of the park. To encourage people calling in, tell the producer ahead of time that you'll give away a couple of copies of your book to callers picked at random.

Make sure you know ahead of time where people can buy your book in that area. Then, tell the listeners that information.

How To Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic

Increased targeted web site traffic means more chances of generating sales, leads and interests. There are multiple ways of driving traffic to your site. Some work and some don't. In this article, I will teach you the ultimate secret to skyrocket your targeted website traffic.

Before I reveal the secrets to generating traffic, I need to tell you the fundamentals of website traffic. Basically there are four types of traffic source:

You can buy traffic

This may include things like pay-per-click search engines such as Google Adwords and Overture. You can also buy banners and text links from high traffic websites.

You can create traffic

This may include things like writing your own articles, starting an affiliate program, creating a blog etc.

You can borrow other people's traffic

This is where you use other people's traffic using leverage. It could be through viral marketing, joint venture, place ads on ezine/newsletter.

You can steal traffic

This is where you get traffic unethically by using spyware etc. I will not be talking about this type of traffic in this article.

Without further delay, let's get started. One of the most common questions I get from people these day is "where are the best places to buy traffic?". My answer to them is pay-per-click search engines. This is the first secret to generating traffic. The traffic you get from PPC search engines is usually high-quality and laser-targeted. I usually use this as my number one traffic source to test out my website, because if my website cannot covert high-quality visitors into buyers, then so is the same for other sources of traffic, even if it's free. You will just be wasting your time and effort.

The second secret is purchasing banner ads. Banner ads got a poor reputation after the dotcom boom busted. That is why most marketers stay away from banners. But in fact, banner ads are proven to be one of the most effective ways to bring quality traffic, and it is the most overlooked source of getting traffic. Also, banner ads are dirt cheap. I can still remember that during the dotcom boom, banner ads soared to prices such as $100 per 1000 impressions. Now, you could get them for just a few dollars.

Another overlooked way of getting quality traffic is purchasing existing websites. This is the third secret I want to teach you. Existing websites are usually established, and have a steady flow of traffic. The websites you should be looking for are sites which have high traffic, but the owner hasn't found a way to monetize the traffic.

The forth way to increase your targeted traffic is through search engines. When people go online to look for information, 95% of them go to search engines. By making your website content rich, your search engine raking will go up. However, most people end up wasting their time with search engines.

The fifth way is by creating your own traffic. This involves things like writing articles and submitting to article directories, creating a content rich blog, starting an affiliate program where you motivate webmasters to send you traffic. I will go into more details with this in my free 7 day mini-course on "How to Dramatically Increase Your Targeted Traffic" at http://www.increasetargetedwebsitetraffic.com

You can also joint venture with other people. This is a excellent way to increase your traffic, as it is a win/win situation. You send proposals to potential joint venture, and kindly ask them to promote your product. You split the profit, and your JVs will start sending you traffic to your website! You can also exchange links or ads with your JVs. You place your link on their site, ezine or newsletter, and they place their ad on yours. If you get rejected by your JVs, so what? They could have said yes, and that could have mean an extra 1000, or even 10000 unique visitors to your website. Never be afraid to ask.

That's it. Remember, take action and you will soon see your traffic dramatically increase.

Misconceptions About Copywriters And Sales Letters

Myth 1- Hiring a copywriter is expensive Not true: Depends what you are selling, how many of it and what you negotiate on but that’s not the real issue. Sure, good to pro copywriters are expensive, sometimes they ask for 50% of the sales but consider this:

If you put a dollar in a machine and get 3,4,5 or 10 dollars back how many times would you do it?

If you said “I’d never do it” then you may want to go back to your 9-5 job, and not have anything to do with business.

If you said “as much as is humanely possible”, then Ding Ding Ding! You won a million bucks (or more….). With that mindset, you’re bound to do well in business. An investment that pays back many times is a good investment.

Myth 2- I can do it myself, copywriters don’t know anything about what I do Well that’s half true and half false. Copywriters may not know necessarily your product, your service or your industry well or at all. However an excellent copywriter (like me…) will know what questions to ask you about your product then turn that into words that sell. Sometimes we are so good at what we do that we end up assuming everyone knows the basics or assume that everyone understands jargon. Happens to everyone and often times people usually have no clue what you may be saying about your product and its features. Copywriters (like me) translate what your product to something that matters for your clients.

Myth 3- Copywriters are too much hassle Here’s another question, how much of a hassle and heartbreak is it when your business struggles or goes under and hits bankruptcy?

Myth 4- Once copywriters take your money, they run with it That’s somewhat oxymoronic and somewhat difficult to explain. There’s vastly more money to be made for both parties selling your stuff and if you don’t get paid, they don’t. Copywriters (such as I) make money only if you make money. Besides why would they have gone through all that work making your sales piece for a hundred bucks if it took them some 10-20 hours to work on? True, I require small upfront commitment, but it’s a way to ensure both of us are ready to commit to making money, and lots of it.

Myth 5- Copywriters are really an “extra” service that aren’t important Correction: You NEED a copywriter or possess copywriting skills if you want your business to grow. Nothing happens without a sale. Its not whether you can afford the commission of the copywriter that’s the question, you can’t afford not to have a quality copywriter. Think of how much money you have tied up in your product or your idea. If it’s not selling it just sits their collecting dust or worse, rotting away while you have to pay for the space, electricity, the capital to even have it built or delivered to you. A percentage of your item’s selling price is a small price to pay to save you 20 times the cost in time, energy, money and your emotional fuel.

Myth 6- Selling and sales letters aren’t that important, I’ll just stick it on eBay/someplace else on the web and people will come to it. Another dangerous and fatal belief; remember this: nothing happens without a sale. The most advanced computer system will languish and sit idle sucking up electricity and valued real estate (Office building or your home), the most sophisticated web hosting system, best trained engineers, accountants and lawyers will leave you if you don’t sell – or not offer their services. They don’t do charity. They usually will want all the money upfront. I’ll only ask for a nominal fee to ensure you’re committed and that we’re both in this together.

Myth 7- If I tell them how my business works and the secret ways I use things they’ll run off and tell and sell it to the highest bidder or use it themselves! Copywriters sell, not steal ideas.

Myth 8- If I tell them how my business works or even hire a copywriter, they will steal all my business ideas, and they will go run and make their own product (that’s almost exactly the same as yours..) and steal from MY business. Copywriters sell stuff, they don’t have time to go run off and build their own company overnight and compete in the same field you are in. Its just too much to do and not enough time to do it in.

Myth 9- They’ll want to steal my business I said it once, I said it twice, I will say it again. Copywriters are in the business of selling stuff, not stealing your idea or your product. Its so much easier to make money being honest and working together instead of working against so only something of an idiot or unethical copywriter (which I sure as hell am not) would want to steal your product and your ideas. Besides think of it this way:

Salesmen sell stuff Accountants process the information Delivery man delivers Manager Manages Clerks do filing Manufacturer manufactures

Do you think the salesman is going to run off and make his own product similar to the company he worked for? Not in a million years. Salesmen sell stuff, they don’t want to deal with the hassle of doing accounts receivables, payables, taxes owed, making the product, filing the paperwork and delivering it himself. More importantly, he makes vastly more money selling whatever product or service in question which benefits everyone else in the company. The Highest and Best use of his time is to sell, not stealing everyone else’s things, products or trying to do everything himself.

Copywriting is essential to your business success. You can either learn it for yourself and not have it produce immediate results because you're just starting out, or pay someone else who has the knowledge and experience that can get you results.

To your success

Blogging = The Latest Phenomena in Traffic Generation

In what was originally a form of online journal keeping by stay-at-home moms and college students, it has now become a national phenomenon with its presence felt as a legitimate business booster. For the novices, blogs are online journals that are periodically updated with articles in the form of posts. It can serve as an informative vehicle between business and consumer. The possibilities are endless when it comes to its ability to draw customers.

If your blog is full of valuable information, you will earn more traffic by retaining them. How?

1) Suppose your blog is based entirely on uncovering conspiracies from the JFK assassination. By creating a daily blog, you label yourself as an expert to the subject, which makes it easier to promote yourself all over the net. This builds more of a personal relationship between yourself and your site visitors, since it can come equipped with message boards and comment boxes where they can voice their opinion about anything you write. A sense of community is established, and people will want to visit again and again.

2) Search engines will give you a boost in the rankings if you have a blog added to your site. This is because blogs are frequently updated, and any fresh content will automatically trigger the search engine mechanisms to classify your site higher – generating more traffic. All it takes is 5 to 10 minutes of your daily time and search engine spide bots will keep reverting back to your site.

3) By adding a blog to your arsenal, you can submit it to the myriad of blog directories posted on the Internet. Some of them include Blog Catalog at blogcatalog.com, Blogarama (blogarama.com) and BlogsCanada.com which has a whopping selection of over 10,000 blogs.

Some of the better blog sites on the Internet include wordpress.com, blogger.com, and blogista.com. They have full HTML capabilities which allow you oto insert the page into your own website or direct to it if needed. I recommend using Blogger the most of all, since it costs absolutely nothing to get started with free hosting and you don’t have to learn any fancy HTML or FrontPage to publish content to your site. Just write, and publish it to the Web for all to see.

Blogging is an excellent traffic booster because 1) it keeps customers coming back again and again, 2) the search engines love updated content, and 3) it has a wide range of promotion tools, like blog directories. Watch traffic explode by using blogs today.

Use Popular Banner Exchange Programs to Increase your Web Profits

One type of advertising that has been around since the Internet business "pioneer" days is banner advertising. Internet business owners discovered early on that getting exposure on websites that were closely related to their own would attract targeted visitors.

This still holds true today, but many Web surfers have become accustomed to seeing banner ads all over the Web. Unless the website traffic is highly targeted and receives a ton of traffic, the banner advertising campaign might prove to be unfruitful. So, new alternatives to traditional banner advertising are being used to grab the attention of visitors. Web banner advertising is not dying out, only changing its form.

Banner Exchanges vs. Paid Banner Advertising

A popular alternative to traditional paid web banner advertising is a banner exchange. It's a new concept using an old, proven Internet marketing strategy. The strategy of banner exchanges is to...

"Target the visitor! Get their attention! Get them to click!"

Paid Banner Advertising Pitfalls

Traditionally, you would find a website you feel would reach your target customers. Then, you would obtain the website's banner advertising rates. Next, you would create a clickable banner for your website and pay the company a certain dollar amount for the number of impressions your banner receives. Unfortunately, "impressions" are not very dependable statistics because the Web page that displays your banner exchange ad may report many impressions for just one visitor. For example, your banner receives ten impressions, but only one actual visitor. Or, it might receive 10,000 impressions, but only 1,000 visitors. This can be very confusing when you're trying to monitor your website traffic based on banner promotions.

Banner Exchanges Explained

Unlike traditional banner advertising methods, banner exchanges work on an exchange basis with other website owners. If you are familiar with traffic exchanges, a banner exchange is similar except the banners are displayed on your own website as well as other targeted websites. You display a banner ad and the other website displays one for you. It's a win/win situation because you are only receiving actual visitors, not impressions.

Unusual Banners

The most effective type of banner exchange is one that uses unusual banners such as hover ad banners that roll down or across the screen. These eye-catching banners seem to reach out and grab visitors to pull them into your website. The banners can be customized to fit your company colors and style as well as the Internet advertising ad you wish to display.

Highly Targeted Traffic

Banner exchanges can bring highly targeted website traffic. How? Most companies that offer a banner exchange program use sophisticated software to match your banner ad with a website of a similar subject. For example, if your website sells scented candles, you might see your banner ad at an online gift shop or a home décor website. This ensures that the visitors you reach are likely to be interested in your product.

Treat your banner exchange campaign the same as you would your search engine marketing campaign or any other form of website promotion. Test different banner ads until you find one that gets response. Also, test your website presentation to maximize sales when visitors arrive.

Banner exchanges are simple and effective, and they can bring results for almost any type of website!

How To Get Newspaper Advertising Cheaper Than Your Competition

Several weeks ago I had an absolutely fascinating conversation with a newspaper advertising expert.

In our meeting, he laid out some of the best newspaper ad tips I'd ever heard. There were tips that can save anyone money and make things go a lot more smoothly when dealing with newspapers and other publications.

And one of the best secrets he told me—which sounds really obvious, but is still a secret to most people—is when you are looking at buying newspaper advertising, one of the things you should do is form a relationship with a representative.

In other words, deal with one person and get to know them. Let them know you and what you are doing, and try to have a real business relationship with the person. It seems such a simple concept but you would be surprised that it actually requires planning as well as good "people skills" when forming the relationship.

Ideally, this person should be a supervisor or manager of the department. But either way, that representative that you have a relationship with is going to be your best ally and will assist you in getting some great pricing. Additionally, he or she will keep you abreast of anything that may help you out such as current or upcoming specials on advertising that you may want to take advantage of.

Now, if you can't seem to get along with the first person you deal with, you should literally ask, "Who else can I work with? I want to spend some money with you. Who can I work with?" If they won't help you with that, go above their head and talk to their boss.

Really, the higher up you can go in the advertising department chain the better. They will be more likely to be able to get you better deals, or make exceptions for you. Especially if you are a good customer and are spending money with them on a regular basis.

So the bottom line is this:

If you do newspaper advertising—or are planning to—start trying to form good business relationships with the newspaper sales representatives of the publications you are planning to run your ads in. Keep those "people skills" in mind as you try to form relationships. Creating and maintaining a good dialogue with the other person is really the critical aspect here.

It will take a little bit of time and effort, but it will be more than worth it for you in the long run when you see the savings and advantages that result.

Me?... Write An Ebook?

The fact is that this is the perfect time to write an ebook. What the publishing industry needs are people who can tap into the world as it is today - innovative thinkers who can make the leap into the new millennium and figure out how to solve old problems in a new way.

Ebooks are a new and powerful tool for original thinkers with fresh ideas to disseminate information to the millions of people who are struggling to figure out how to do a plethora of different things.

Let's say you already have a brilliant idea, and the knowledge to back it up that will enable you to write an exceptional ebook. You may be sitting at your computer staring at a blank screen wondering, "Why?

Why should I go through all the trouble of writing my ebook when it's so impossible to get anything published these days?

Well, let me assure you that publishing an ebook is entirely different than publishing a book in print.

Let's look at the specifics of how the print and cyber publishing industry differ, and the many reasons why you should take the plunge and get your fingers tapping across those keyboards!

Submitting a print book to conventional publishing houses or to agents is similar to wearing a hair shirt 24/7. No matter how good your book actually is, or how many critique services and mentor writers have told you that "you've got what it takes," your submitted manuscript keeps coming back to you as if it is a boomerang instead of a valuable mine of information.

Perhaps, in desperation, you've checked out self-publishing and found out just how expensive a venture it can be. Most "vanity presses" require minimal print runs of at least 500 copies, and even that amount will cost you thousands of dollars. Some presses' minimal run starts at 1,000 to 2,000 copies.

And that's just for the printing and binding. Add in distribution, shipping, and promotional costs and - well, you do the math. Even if you wanted to go this route, you may not have that kind of money to risk.

Let's say you already have an Internet business with a quality website and a quality product. An ebook is one of the most powerful ways to promote your business while educating people with the knowledge you already possess as a business owner of a specific product or service. Talk about being branded as an instant expert!

For example, let's say that you've spent the last twenty-five years growing and training bonsai trees, and now you're ready to share your knowledge and experience. An ebook is the perfect way to reach the largest audience of bonsai enthusiasts.

Ebooks will not only promote your business - they will help you make a name for yourself and your company, and establish you as an expert in your field. You may even find that you have enough to say to warrant a series of ebooks. Specific businesses are complicated and often require the different aspects to be divided in order for the reader to get the full story.

Perhaps your goals are more finely tuned in terms of the ebook scene. You may want to build a whole business around writing and publishing ebooks.

Essentially, you want to start an e-business. You are thinking of setting up a website to promote and market your ebooks. Maybe you're even thinking of producing an ezine.

One of the most prevalent reasons people read ebooks is to find information about how to turn their Internet businesses into a profit-making machine. And these people are looking to the writers of ebooks to provide them with new ideas and strategies because writers of ebooks are usually people who understand the new cyberspace world we now live in. Ebook writers are experts in Internet marketing campaigns and the strategies of promoting and distributing ebooks. The cyberspace community needs its ebooks to be successful so that more and more ebooks will be written.

You may want to create affiliate programs that will also market your ebook. Affiliates can be people or businesses worldwide that will all be working to sell your ebooks. Think about this? Do you see a formula for success here?

Figure out what your subject matter is, and then narrow it down. Your goal is to aim for specificity.

Research what's out there already, and try to find a void that your ebook might fill.

What about an ebook about a wedding cake business? Or an ebook about caring for elderly pets? How about the fine points of collecting ancient pottery? It doesn’t even matter if there are a TON of ebooks already on your chosen subject. Nobody is going to write it as you would. Nobody Could have your specific angle.

You don't have to have three masters degrees to write about your subject. People need advice that is easy to read and easily understood. Parents need advice for dealing with their teenagers. College students need to learn good study skills - quickly. The possibilities are endless.

After you've writtten your ebook

Getting your ebook out is going to be your focus once you've finished writing it, just as it is with print books. People will hesitate to buy any book from an author they've never heard of. Wouldn't you?

The answer is simple: give it away! You will see profits in the form of promoting your own business and getting your name out. You will find affiliates who will ask you to place their links within your ebook, and these affiliates will in turn go out and make your name known. Almost every single famous ebook author has started out this way.

Another powerful tool to attract people to your ebook is to make it interactive. Invent something for them to do within the book rather than just producing pages that contain static text. Let your readers fill out questionnaires, forms, even crossword puzzles geared to testing their knowledge on a particular subject.

Have your readers hit a link that will allow them to recommend your book to their friends and associates.

Or include an actual order form so at the end of their reading journey, they can eagerly buy your product.

When people interact with books, they become a part of the world of that book. The fact is just as true for books in print as it is for ebooks.

That's why ebooks are so essential. Not only do they provide a forum for people to learn and make sense of their own thoughts, but they can also serve to virally Promote your business at the same time.
