Different Ways To Promote Products

If you are interested in affiliate marketing, you are likely interested in the different ways to promote the products that you have chosen. There are several popular ways. They can all generate commissions for you, in other words, make money for you.

The most popular is probably pay per click marketing. Pay per click is when you place an ad on one of the major search engines. Every time someone clicks on the ad, you pay a predetermined price. If that person then purchases the advertised product, you earn a commission. It’s a great way to advertise, as long as you keep a close eye on your budget and don’t spend more then you earn. You can certainly make money with pay per click advertising.

Another popular way to affiliate market is by writing articles. You can write an article with information relating to the product you are marketing. There has to be good information contained in the article and the article cannot be simply a sales page for the product. Then you submit the article to one of the many article submission sites. At the bottom of each article, you are allowed to put a link to your website. This cannot be an affiliate link. This is a great way to get advertising for your website because your article can wind up all over the internet. People can copy your article for their ezines as long as they leave the author resource box intact. You will make money with article marketing, but it may take you longer.

Safelist advertising is basically email advertising, but you are assured of being spam free. To send email to a safemail list, you need to join and agree to receive other peoples advertisement. You are then allowed to send them ads. Its an okay way to advertise, although I’m not sure how effective. People can get so many emails, they may just delete them automatically. I’m not sure if you will make money with this type of advertising. Some people swear by it, but it doesn’t seem like it works for me.

Placing classified ads is another way to advertise. This is low cost to no cost and can get you some great exposure.

There are many different ways to market products as an affiliate. The above are just a couple. If you are looking to start affiliate marketing, it’s a good idea to become familiar with all of the marketing methods. Its also a good idea to use more then just one method to get the best results form your affiliate marketing efforts. This is how you will make money.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money on the internet.

The Three Resistant Internet Advertising Secrets

This summary is not available. Please click here to view the post.

If You Build it They Will Come

So you have a website, that’s a good start. Long nights and days have been put into your site to make it unique. What you have just created the greatest website on earth. With this site you could sell anything and people would buy it. Good for you, I congratulate you because I really wanted to do that. There is only one thing wrong with your site, the lack of visitors, unfortunately for you that is the biggest ingredient for having a successful site. Now your asking your self, how do I get visitors to my site? Great question. I still wonder this from time to time.

There are many ways to promote your site. Some are free (great for people on a budget) and others you have to pay for. Both have pros and cons. Free advertising of course is free. This is a huge advantage compared to paying for it. If you are tight on money this is the way to go. You can still get good results with out paying a penny for them; you just have to work harder. That is the main downside of free advertising, but if you have the time this is a great option. Remember that the more money you spend the less time you will have to spend to get your website noticed. Knowing this pretty much gives us the pros of pay advertising. The con, it takes money not good for those of us with out the funds.

What are the types of free advertising? There are many, I have listed just a few.

Writing articles and submitting them to article directories.

Blog and Ping

Traffic exchanges.

Word of mouth.

Posting to forums, site in Sig. file

Writing articles does a few things for you. It lets others think of you as an expert in your field. You also get back links to your site. This is good for your search engine ranking. You also get targeted visitors to your site. (People who really want to see your site). Blog and ping is a great technique for getting some visitors as well. Write something worth reading and post it to your blog. Make sure you have at least one link to your site on your blog. After every post you make, make sure you ping it. This lets the search engines know that your site or blog as fresh new content on it. This is great for search engines. Traffic exchanges are also a good way to get some traffic. However it isn’t has good. Not targeted, however still a way of getting some people to see your site.

Paid advertising methods include but are not limited to:

PPC (Pay Per Click)

Ezine Ads.

Offline ads. (flyers, biz cards, etc.)

These are the main paid advertising methods. Of course there are many others. PPC gives you targeted visitors. They see your ad on places like google search results and click on it. You only pay for the times you ad gets clicked on. Good way of getting visitors quickly, just make sure you set a budget and stick to it. This method can get very expensive if you don’t keep track of it. Ezine solo ads, are another paid method of advertising. Find an ezine related to your site, then see if you can buy a solo ad (your ad is the only thing in the e-mail, best form of ezine advertising.) Make sure the ezine has a good number of subscribers. This way much more people will see you ad.

This is just a few of the more popular advertising methods both free and paid. Use one or the other or mix and match. Make sure to watch your budget and work really hard. The harder you work the more people will see your site and the more business you will receive, and since you have the greatest site on earth this will be very good for you. I hope this article helps even just a little bit. I use these methods for my sites and they work, as long as you work them.

You Need Money to Get Web Traffic…Huh?

It takes money to make money. That statement is pretty much a universal truth Here's another truth that applies to the internet. To make money from your website you must have a steady flow of website traffic. No visitors, no income. This has been the downfall of many internet businesses.

Now you might ask "sure it takes a steady flow of traffic but don't I need a fat bankroll to generate that TRAFFIC?"

In technical language: Uh-uh.

Ever wonder how the big boys (and girls) drive traffic to their sites? Yes some of them are spending tons of money investing in advertising campaigns and different marketing schemes etc and it works for them. Nothing wrong with that, if you have the budget for it.

But many top marketers are taking different approaches; less expensive methods that are driving traffic to their sites and making them just as much money as the heavy spenders.

Don't have much money?

Exchange Links

Once in a blue moon, you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with so they can create more public awareness about their sites. By exchanging links, you'll soon see and experience the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming to your site from other sites.

In exchanging links, your site should have the same niche or similar content as the other site. Your target audience needs to see a certain continuity in information and/or services between your website and your link partner.

Another benefit of link exchange is it increases your website's chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. Search engines love sites with inbound and outbound theme-related links. A higher ranking means more traffic to your website without the high costs.

Traffic Exchange

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another person's site or page within a system. You submit your website then visit other member sites to earn credits. This increases the number of visitors to all the sites within the system. The more you view (also known as surf) the more traffic you get to your site.

Write and Submit Articles

This is my favorite. There are many newsletters, online encyclopedias and article directories on the internet which provide free space for articles to be submitted. There are also freelance writers willing to write for you for a small fee. Many are very good but save money and write the articles yourself.

Write articles that are related to your website's theme. Write something that you have expertise on or a passion for so that when people read your article, they feel your knowledge and excitement about the subject and will be eager to visit your site..

Include a resource box at the end of your article that links to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. An interesting article packed with quality information can keep people coming back to your site for months, sometimes years after you written it

Make a Newsletter.

This may sound like a lot of work but it's not. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche as your site.

As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.

I'll be the first to admit that having the duckies to invest will only help your business but don't let the fact that you maybe short on funds stop you. Use these very high powered resources on a consistent basis and you won't be low on traffic for long.

Advertising Balloons In The United Kingdom

Getting the attention of the customer is the only way a company can survive. Since there are other brands competing, it is important to advertise in order to gain leverage over the others.

A company can spend a lot of money on television, radio or the billboards but if there isn't enough money in the budget it is best to use advertising balloons instead. The practice of using this in the United Kingdom is almost the same as in the United States.

The firm can choose to use inflatables or get those that are powered using helium. Most of the companies in the United Kingdom go to a firm that will make a design or use an existing one and get that ad in the air. An experienced pilot will fly one of these as well as take some riders who will like to come on board.

The standard shape of the balloon is always there. If people want a different touch, this can be shaped into a soda can, a strawberry or a famous cartoon character that can really make people look up and be sold on the ad.

The cost of an advertising balloon for really big ones is divided into three parts.

The first will be the construction costs that will come from the manufacturer. This will on the design and specifications given by the client.

The second is the operation of the balloon. Some people will just want to tie this on the roof of the office.

The third is called balloon public relations where someone experienced flies around the city.

If the company doesn't have the money for this, there are other options. These people can settle for the inflatables that are powered by large fans. Again a design has to be chosen before it can be delivered.

The difference between an inflatable and a balloon is that these can't float in the air. The fan is what keeps this on the ground and will just wave from one direction to the next depending also on the direction of the wind.

Advertising is the only way to launch a product or create awareness in the market. If people don't have a lot of money but need to advertise, using a balloon is the best way to go. These are easy to make and maintain enabling the company to make a new one after a few months.

8 Breakthrough Ways to Bring Free Visitors to Your Site!

Many websites have great ideas, excellent content, brilliant deals and terrific potential. However, the truth is, the majority of these sites fail. This is for the simple reason that these sites can not get sufficient visitors.

I hope to address this problem with 8 sure-fire ways to bring guaranteed visitors to your site within a matter of days:

1. Write your own articles

Increase traffic to your site immediately by writing your own articles and publishing them in relevant ezines or on relevant websites. At the beginning and end of your article, include a link to your site and a small sentence explaining how it would benefit the reader. This is a proven way to achieve tremendous, targeted traffic from all over the web. Do not be afraid to contact owners of large ezines. These ezine publishers need articles, especially if they publish a daily ezine. Just send them a polite, personal email, with your article neatly formatted. Writing your own articles also has the benefit of a long lasting effect. Once your article has been published in a big ezine, many readers of that ezine will use your article in their own ezine. Your article could be circulating around the web for months.

2. Create your own ebook

Create your own ebook relevant to your site's subject matter. Include a link back to your site on every page of the ebook. Make sure it is clearly stated on your ebook that it can be freely distributed so long as it is not altered in any way. Then, give it away on your own site, and distribute it to other relevant internet sites. These sites will probably be happy to distribute it for you, seeing as big sites are always looking for new ebooks to give away to enhance their popularity. You can then stop distributing your ebook after a while and then sit back and watch traffic pour into your site. A benefit is that if your traffic flow ever decreases again, then you can always distribute your ebook again.

3. Search engine optimisation

A high ranking on the popular search engines is one of the best ways to achieve incredible traffic within a couple of days. However, getting a high ranking on the top search engines is easier said than done. Briefly, these are the ways to get high search engine ranking:

Having a large number of links to your site all over the web

Having a large percentage of keywords in your content

Using effective meta tags (good keywords, etc...)

Using keywords in headings or in bold type

Using clean code with no unnecessary jargon

4. Using an email signature

This is possibly the most under-rated way of advertising on the internet. Think about how many emails you send a week. If you're a webmaster who is trying to get rich, you should be sending a lot! Just use a small signature at the end of each email such as:

====================================

100s of free ebooks and software products -

Go to - http://www.info-ebooks.co.uk

====================================

This will alert everyone you email, whether it be family, friends or prospective customers, that you have a site which is worth visiting. Notice how I have used the '=' sign to highlight my signature. This stands out much more than the '-' sign and will allow for maximum visibility. If you have family or friends who do not use an email signature, then ask them to have a similar signature as yours at the end of every one of their emails. You'll soon see an influx of visitors.

5. Link exchanges

Link exchanges are great because they cost nothing, are very long lasting, and also bring in extremely targeted traffic to your site. Link exchanges work by you and another website owner putting a link on each other's site so that each of you benefits. When choosing a site to link with, be careful about choosing a site very similar to yours. In this way, the other site's link does not look like an advertisement on your site, and you will also receive plentiful, targeted traffic. Link exchanges also have the benefit of helping you increase your search engine rankings seeing as you are increasing the amount of links to your site all over the web.

6. Autoresponder advertising

If you want to be a successful internet businessman you need to have an autoresponder. It is an essential tool which will save you hours of precious time. You can set your autoresponder up to email your prospects at certain intervals, and so take advantage, and send your new prospects emails about your new products, your special deals and your unique selling point which will benefit the reader. Alternatively, if you use your autoresponder to send out your special email course, make sure you have a small advertisement at the bottom and top of the email. Either way, this is a way to get great traffic without you having to do any work.

7. Using the power of recommendation

Nothing will make people come to your site more than having a friend recommend it to them. Everyone respects their friend's opinions and if you can get people to recommend your site then you're very likely to achieve a maximum amount of traffic. Word of mouth is a very common way of spreading 'the best new thing'. To get a recommendation script to put on your website so that visitors can recommend your site at the click of a button, go to http://www.cgi-resources.com or http://www.hotscripts.com. Generally, I find that people will not recommend your site unless there is an incentive. Therefore, offer a free reward if people recommend your site, such as a free ebook or free software product. Also, make sure that your recommendation form is on lots of your web pages and that it is very visible. Soon, you will have a large number recommending their friends to your site.

8. Holding a contest on your website

Holding a contest is a concept which has been highly neglected, even though it has tremendous traffic building potential. Hold a contest on your site for something that your site is based around. For example, if your site is based around video games, the prize could be the latest video game, which you know everyone who visits your site will be interested in. Often you don't have to pay for the prize either. Many companies would be happy to give you a free prize, because the company would receive free advertising. People will come to your site, see the contest, and if they like it (which you have to make sure they do), they will almost certainly tell a friend about it. This way you will collect a load of email addresses, which you can mail to, to tell them about product updates. The potential for traffic is unlimited. Plus, by offering competitions like this, your site will gain popularity from winners, and you could also offer a consolation prize to those who haven't won, so that you get popularity from all the losers of the competition too.

A Tale of Three Duplicities

Last issue you may recall reading “A Tale of Two Duplicities.” Now you can enjoy the third and final saga in this trilogy of Internet shenanigans!

This had been a notable week in terms of the deluge of news articles regarding Internet fraud. Perhaps the summer heat and the forecast of temperatures rising into the 100s have an overall noxious effect on people’s behavior, compelling them to acquire the demeanor of cyber-villains in the same way that a full moon has been known to induce aggressiveness. Whatever the case may be, here is a recap that pushes the limits of the imagination:

I. The Trojan Horse and The MySpace.com Space Out

Remarkably, an online advertiser managed to insert the coding of a Trojan horse program into a banner advertisement running on the MySpace.com network. Visitors using older versions of Internet Explorer may have been infected. In effect, the way older versions of this browser process Windows Metafile images would have left them vulnerable to both hackers and adware programs alike. All of the estimates I’ve read indicated that the number may have been over one million MySpace.com users.

The Trojan horse coding itself does not distribute the unwanted pop up ads that plague infected computers. Rather, a Trojan horse covertly installs itself onto the user’s computers opening a line of communication with an outside server that downloads adware programs and other malware onto the users’ hard drives. I wonder why online advertisers are willing to subject themselves to lawsuits and criminal prosecution by choosing a ride on the Trojan horse??

What you can do to avoid this from happening to you: A tech-savvy friend once told me to download Mozilla Firefox as a way to avoid having my computer infected by simply visiting a page with a Trojan type program on it. Internet Explorer has also developed a patch that resolves this vulnerability to Windows Metafile images for aficionados who are loyal to this browser. If you’re a content publisher looking to earn revenue by displaying banner ads on your site, you should set in place a system of monitoring banner ads that you receive from your individual advertisers. Content publishers using third party advertising networks to distribute banners on websites, should make sure their networks have taken appropriate measures to screen the banners before distribution.

II. Click Fraud Practitioners Beware!

Google is becoming even more proactive. Guys: do you remember your high school quarterback who was good looking, got into an Ivy League on a full scholarship, and yet still managed to be humble about it? Didn’t it annoy you! That must be how Google makes the competition feel. Last week, an Information Systems Professor at NYU by the name of Dr. Alexander Tuzhilin indicated that Google is and has been taking appropriate measures to handle the problem of click fraud for the benefit of their advertisers. According to Tuzhilin, Google’s team of Click Quality inspectors systematically covers all four corners of “pre-filtering, online filtering, automated offline detection, and manual offline detection” while screening for invalid clicks.

Furthermore, a New York Times article indicates that Google plans on telling advertisers how many clicks are fraudulent. This transparency would be most reassuring, but for me this comes as no surprise. I remember receiving notice from Google that I had received a reimbursement in my Adwords account without me even having to ask for it. In my opinion, Google has already been on the ball in detecting click fraud for quite some time. Communicating this news to the public is done in order to reassure the nervous nellies of our space.

What you can do to avoid this from happening to you: If you’re a paid search advertiser, certain tracking and analytics software packages offer fraud detection tools. Keyword MAX for example offers a device called Click Auditor that appears on your screen as a gauge that looks like a speedometer, only instead of indicating speed, it detects the degree of fraud in your various paid search accounts. Paid search providers can detect an invalid click if it comes through a proxy server, through which a robot can send a request from more than one IP address.

Click fraud unfortunately happens, but with the proper tools, training, experience, and gut feeling, you can reduce the threat that it poses to you.

III. And the winner this week is... The Return of MixItForMe.com

For those of you unfamiliar with the story, allow me to regale you with a tale of adventure and woe that begins (or rather continues) in Providence Rhode Island. About a year ago, a company called MixItForMe.com scammed both small time individual shoppers and large online resellers out of several millions of dollars. Taking on the façade of a legitimate company for over six months, MixItForMe.com offered deals that seemed too good to be true, and that’s just what they were. Trendy electronic devices, such as razor phones, were sold through their website at a discount that could make New Yorkers smile in reminiscence of the frantic Crazy Eddy commercials we used to see on TV. The only thing unusual was a slight problem in fulfilling orders, a slight problem totaling several millions of dollars.

The venture ended in fiasco, when the FBI raided the Providence office, but not before the founder could escape and continue a life on the lam. He was recently discovered running a similar operation, this time in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It turns out his lifestyle could easily be placed in the context of a Sherlock Holmes novel or on the movie set of Catch Me If You Can, as he has been defrauding some pretty sharp people while under pseudonyms and living in an opulence that would make even the Count of Monte Cristo feel ashamedly poor. It’s believed he still continues to evade unsmiling authorities who fail to see the humor in his shenanigans.

What you can do to prevent this from happening to you: When making an online purchase, it’s a good idea to check out what people are saying about the company in online forums, especially if you’re thinking about shelling out some serious coinage. For example, a poster on www.resellerratings.com vented “DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! This business is a scam--they charge you on the day you order, but you'll never get it,” on March 12th 2005. A steady flow of complaints regarding non-deliverability and unwillingness to grant refunds occupied this same forum for since December of 2005.

Usually, such forum threads will turn up on a search engine when looking for the company name. If you have doubts, don’t simply go by what’s written on the company website even if chances are it is true: MixItForMe.com was after all approved by the Better Business Bureau of Rhode Island, which did eventually revoke its membership. However this was only done on April 17th 2006, well after FBI agents raided the headquarters under the authorization of a federal search warrant on March 27th. Word of mouth may simply be one or two disgruntled customers blowing off some steam, but if a torrent of complaints appears about a recently-founded company on forums, it should raise some red flags.

Email Advertising - How Ad Tracking Helped Create A Killer Ad

I recently undertook an email advertising promotion, using a number of advertising media. The exercise involved a program of mine called the Magical Marketing system.

As an email advertising Internet marketing exercise, I decided that I wanted to approach the members of some of the affiliate programs that are featured in Magical Marketing, and offer their members the chance to join this system, and reap the benefit of the multiple promotion methods that it employs.

And, as an email advertising marketing exercise, this has worked very well, and whilst an interesting exercise in Joint Venture Marketing in itself, it has produced a result so remarkable in my eyes, that I felt it worthy of a report.

With one particular featured program, I did a multiple ad test, to see what the comparison between three ads. It was the results of this that struck me, and prompted me to put this article together.

The three ads, which were very similar. This is good of course, because it means that any variance in the results can be explained in relatively few ways. So there are two points that need to be made about these ads, which may affect your thinking about how you write your own ads.

1. Use Of Variables in Headlines

I don't know about you, but I am always hearing that using someone's name in an advert can make a significant difference to the effect of that advert. Not all programs have this kind of facility though. It just happens the program that I ran the adverts with does, so I made use of it in the headlines for 2 of the 3 adverts, but not for one of them. I have used the variable in the body of all three ads, so some personalisation took place in all cases.

2. Bulleted Benefits

Again, all the books and articles that I have ever read tell you to spell out the benefits, and a lot of them tell you to bullet them to add emphasis. So, I have done this with all three adverts, but with a difference between ads 1,and 2 and 3. In the first advert, I just made single word references to the benefits, in the other two, I elaborated in order to explain the benefit better.

3. Conclusions

The results are so striking, that they are worthy of comment.

The ads were placed from 12th December 2004 to 18h January 2005. So, the time span is about a month, but, I use the program in question to send other ads out too. About every 3rd day, I will send one of these three ads, in rotation. So, each of the ads would have been sent about every 6 days or so.

Advert 1 pulled in 70 unique hits, with 19 action hits. The latter is where prospects followed through to the sign up page.

Advert 2 pulled 5 unique hits and 1 action hit.

Advert 3 pulled 4 unique hits and no action hits.

Headlines

I have always advocated trying to keep headlines short, especially where email adverts are concerned. You only have the width of the email pane to enter your message, so you must tell your story within a few words.

I don't consider any of the Headlines that I have used to be excessively long. However, the first advert is very short, and perhaps that accounts in part for the huge number of additional clicks for the first advert?

In part, I believe that this is true.

However, I am now thinking that perhaps email prospects have become wary of seeing their name in emails from people that they don't really know. Think about how you react when you see such an email?

Do you open it immediately, or do you become suspicious?

Trust your gut feeling.

I have used the personalised approach in the body of the email, and maybe the psychology here is that once someone has opened an email, they have 'let you in' and are more amenable to your being personal.

Headline conclusion

I am more convinced than ever that email headlines should be short - as short as possible. I also recommend that if you personalise the Headline, you stop, and test your ads without it.

Bulleted Benefits

You can see that advert 1 has produced a massive amount of additional click thru's over the other two ads. Bearing in mind that each ad went out, probably every six days, the first two ads are not far removed from the norm with the program that I used. This makes the results achieved by Advert 1 even more staggering.

The change in headline may go some way to explain this, but the huge number of clicks tells me that something much more significant has occurred.

Thankfully, the body of the three ads are very similar in all aspects, except one; the bulleted benefits. In the first ad, I have given one word answers. In the other two, I have elaborated.

Bulleted benefits conclusion

One cannot escape the fact that keeping the benefits so short has had an impact. And not only in click thru's either. If you look at the graphic under 'Actions' column, you will see that I have tracked the prospect through to the signup page. You might expect that the 20% conversion rate be the same, but it isn't, it has increased to around 28%. So the shorter bullet points have also pre-sold more effectively, so the prospects likelihood of signing up has increased as well.

As a final note, please remember that all of this is courtesy of tracking my ads. If you don't do it, then you will struggle to make an impact in the marketing world.
